Whether you enjoy fast roller coasters, refreshing water attractions or calmer family rides, Bobbejaanland offers something for everyone. The park is suitable for both young and old, making it an ideal outing during your camping holiday in the Kempen.
In this article, we are happy to tell you more about Bobbejaanland and why it has become a firm favourite for us as well.

A theme park for young and old
Bobbejaanland is located in Lichtaart, part of the municipality of Kasterlee, in the heart of the Antwerp Kempen. The park was founded by the well-known Flemish artist Bobbejaan Schoepen. His name lives on in the park itself – a cheerful place where music, fun and adventure come together.
Today, Bobbejaanland offers around 50 attractions spread across several themed areas. Some of these attractions are indoor, making the park a good option even on less sunny days.
For adrenaline lovers, there is Fury, one of the fastest roller coasters in the Benelux, reaching speeds of over 106 km/h. Those who prefer a calmer experience can enjoy Terra Magma, an adventurous ride through a volcanic landscape, unique in Belgium.
Young visitors are well catered for too. In Kinderland, children can play for hours in a safe, covered area with slides and climbing structures.

Bobbejaanland through the seasons
What makes Bobbejaanland so enjoyable is that each season has its own charm. From this year on, the park is open all year round, allowing you to enjoy a visit from spring to winter.
When the park opens its gates again in April, there is a pleasant sense of springtime activity. Everything comes back to life: nature awakens, the first campers arrive again, and the mornings are filled with the smell of fresh coffee and outdoor air.
April and May are wonderful months to visit Bobbejaanland. The days become longer, the sun shows itself more often, and the temperatures are ideal for a relaxed day full of adventure. The park feels spacious and calm, giving you time to truly enjoy the attractions without rush or crowds. And before you know it, spring smoothly turns into summer – the season in which Bobbejaanland is buzzing with life.
Summer
In summer, Bobbejaanland is full of energy. The park is at its most lively when the sun is high in the sky, and water fun is never far away. The water attractions provide welcome cooling on warm days: Terra Magma, the adventurous journey through a volcanic landscape, the classic Wild Water Slide – the well-known log flume ride along rushing waterfalls – and El Rio remain favourites with both young and old.
Since 2024, visitors can also enjoy a spectacular diving show on the lake, where acrobats literally dive into the water. An impressive experience for both children and adults.
On several summer evenings, the park stays open longer. The sun slowly sets behind the trees, the lights turn on, and the attractions take on a special atmosphere. With long evenings and plenty of daylight, you can enjoy Bobbejaanland even longer.

Autumn may well be the most atmospheric season to visit Bobbejaanland. The trees surrounding the park turn shades of gold, red and orange, and the lower sun creates that typical warm light across the ponds and attractions. The air feels fresher, which makes it especially pleasant to spend a day outdoors.
During autumn, there is a relaxed and cosy atmosphere. The busy summer period is over, giving you more space to enjoy the attractions, the shows and a quiet moment on a bench with a warm waffle in hand.
Each year, the park also celebrates Halloween. During the day, you will see cheerfully decorated pumpkins, autumn leaves and smiling ghosts, while the evenings become more exciting with illuminated scare zones, haunted houses and special evening openings.
For young families, there is a separate family zone with a friendly Halloween theme – just exciting enough for little adventurers, but always with a smile.
New this year, Bobbejaanland opens for the first time during the winter months, from 6 December 2025 until 4 January 2026. The park transforms into a cosy winter setting, filled with twinkling lights, winter music and the smell of hot chocolate and cinnamon. As soon as you enter, you immediately feel that warm, festive atmosphere.
Some attractions remain open, and the park focuses more on experience and atmosphere: winter decorations, cosy corners with fire baskets and special shows that perfectly match the season. The whole setting takes on a storybook feel – as if you are walking through a Christmas film, right in the heart of the Kempen.
For children, it is a magical experience: glowing figures, cheerful winter characters walking through the park and, of course, rides on the attractions that stay open. For parents, it is mainly about enjoying the calm atmosphere and the feeling of being away for a while, without having to travel far.

Bobbejaanland in nature
What makes Bobbejaanland extra special is its location. The park is set in the middle of the green Kempen countryside, surrounded by forests and fields. This makes it not only easy to reach by car, but also ideal to visit by bicycle. From our campsite, it is about a 25-minute bike ride along quiet country roads and rural paths.

Whether you are riding roller coasters with the children or enjoying a quiet walk along the water, the day always ends well when you return to your own place on the campsite.
