Our family-run campsite is located in the heart of the Belgian Kempen, a region known for its vast forests, charming villages, walking trails and cycling routes. This is not a busy holiday park or a crowded campsite, but a place where peace, nature and hospitality take centre stage.
For more than 50 years, we have welcomed campers who consciously choose space, simplicity and a relaxed atmosphere. Today, the third generation of the Van Eyck family is at the helm. Together with a small and dedicated team, we make sure our guests quickly feel at home and enjoy a carefree holiday in Kasterlee.
Some guests stay for just one night during a cycling or walking trip, while others spend several weeks with us. Many return year after year to their favourite spot in Kasterlee. Whether you travel with a tent, caravan, motorhome or folding trailer, everyone enjoys their holiday here in their own way.
Our basic field consists of thirty spacious camping pitches of approximately 100 m². No tall hedges or strict boundaries, just an open field where freedom takes centre stage. Electricity connections and water points are available throughout the field. You may also park one car next to your camping unit.
Our comfort pitches consist of eleven spacious camping pitches of approximately 125 m². Each pitch is bordered by hedges and greenery for additional privacy. Water, drainage and a 10-amp electricity connection are available directly on your pitch.
Our six hardstanding motorhome pitches are specially designed for motorhomes. Thanks to the stable grass-grid surface, you can park comfortably in every season. Water and a 10-amp electricity connection are available close to your pitch.
Our car-free tent field accommodates up to ten tents. There are no marked pitches, allowing you to choose your own spot on the grass. Several picnic tables are available for shared use, and the heated sanitary building is located directly opposite the tent field.
No camping equipment? No problem
Not everyone travels with a tent, caravan or motorhome. That is why you can also stay in one of our rental accommodations at Camping Houtum.
Spread throughout the campsite, you will find a variety of accommodations, each with its own character. From a cosy cabin on the tent field to a comfortable chalet or a fully equipped safari tent. This allows you to enjoy the same peace, nature and camping atmosphere without bringing your own camping equipment.
Whether you are travelling as a couple, planning a family holiday or exploring the Kempen region by bike or on foot, there is always an accommodation that suits you.

Heated sanitary facilities
Good sanitary facilities make all the difference during your stay. That is why we pay great attention to them at Camping Houtum.
Across the campsite you will find two sanitary buildings with toilets, showers, washing-up facilities and laundry amenities. The facilities are cleaned daily to ensure they remain neat and comfortable for all guests.
For hot water, we use a SEP card system. Upon arrival, you pay a €10 deposit for the card and €10 of usage credit is automatically added. The card can be used for the showers, washing-up facilities, washing machine and tumble dryer. Any unused credit, together with the deposit, will be refunded when you leave.
The heated sanitary facilities remain available throughout the winter season.
Café de Congé
At the heart of the campsite you will find Café de Congé. Not a large restaurant or busy bar, but a cosy meeting place for our guests.
During the camping season, you are welcome to enjoy a coffee, soft drink, local beer or an ice cream on the terrace. Inside, you can play billiards, darts, table football or enjoy one of the board games available.
There is also plenty to do outside. Right behind Café de Congé you will find our pétanque court and beach volleyball court, both popular with guests throughout the season.
For many campers, Café de Congé is a regular stop after a walk or bike ride. A place to relax, enjoy a drink and soak up the friendly atmosphere of the campsite.

Behind Camping Houtum is a small but dedicated team that works every day to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
Today, Vic Van Eyck represents the third generation of the family running the campsite. Together with family members and colleagues, he ensures everything runs smoothly behind the scenes, from reception and administration to campsite maintenance and rental accommodations.
Chances are you will meet one of us during your stay. At reception, on the campsite, during an activity or simply while walking around. Personal contact is something we truly value.
We may not be a large campsite with dozens of employees, but many guests appreciate exactly that family atmosphere. Here, you are not just another booking number, but a welcome guest.

Camping Houtum is located in the heart of the Belgian Kempen, a region known for its forests, walking trails and cycling routes.
From the campsite, you can walk or cycle directly towards the Kleine Nete river, Hoge Mouw, Zwart Water and many other nature areas. The famous Kabouterberg is also nearby and remains a favourite destination for families with children.
Cyclists can make use of the extensive cycling junction network that passes right by the campsite. Walkers are equally spoiled for choice, with countless routes through forests, heathland and quiet country roads.
Nearby attractions include Domein de Putten, Bobbejaanland, De Pompoenerie and several cosy cafés and restaurants.
