You arrive, connect, and immediately feel that everything is in place. No searching for water, no cables running across the field. Everything is ready on your own pitch. Sometimes comfort lies in small things – a private connection, a little extra space, a hedge that gently surrounds your spot. That is exactly what you will find on our comfort pitches. At Camping Houtum in Kasterlee, you combine comfort with peace and nature.
Our comfort camping pitches are individually bordered by hedges and greenery. Not an open field, but clearly defined, spacious pitches with privacy and structure. You settle in the way that feels right to you, with enough distance and still connected to the green surroundings.
With your caravan, motorhome or folding trailer, you can set up without detours. Water and 10 amp electricity are available directly on your own pitch. Everything close by, everything simple.
There are eleven comfort pitches, each approximately 125 m² and at least 15 metres long. Spacious enough for larger camping units, with artificial grass that provides stability and comfort, even after rain. Each pitch feels thoughtfully designed, without losing its natural character.
Camping on a Comfort Pitch
125 m² per comfort pitch
Each comfort pitch offers extra space. The pitches are at least 15 metres long and therefore suitable for larger caravans and motorhomes. You have enough room for your awning, outdoor seating and to truly make yourself comfortable.
The green hedges provide natural privacy without losing the open character of the campsite.
Water and electricity on your own pitch
Each comfort pitch has its own connection post with 10 amp electricity, a water tap and drainage. No searching, no sharing. Everything is ready on your own pitch.
One additional tent up to 6 m²
One additional tent per pitch is allowed, with a maximum surface of 6 m². This can be used as extra sleeping space or for luggage.
Artificial grass for extra comfort
Each comfort pitch includes a large section of artificial grass. You always step out of your caravan or motorhome onto a dry surface, even after rainfall. It simply makes arriving and departing that bit more pleasant. Practical, but above all comfortable.
Parking your car in a parking area
Prefer more openness around your caravan or motorhome? Then you can park your car in one of our central parking areas. This keeps the camping field green and organised, and creates even more peace around your own pitch.
Do you have a favourite pitch?
Many campers know it after just one stay. That spot where the sun falls just right, where you have shelter from the wind, where you experience more privacy, close to the sanitary facilities or just near the exit for a quick start to a walk or bike ride. Sometimes one camping pitch simply feels right.
Would you like to stay on that same pitch during your next visit? You can secure your preferred pitch for €6. This way you are guaranteed a spot that makes the difference for you.
You can easily select this option during your online reservation by choosing a preferred pitch. You can also let us know by phone or email and we will include it in your booking. We never do this automatically. The choice is always yours.
In exceptional cases, a camping pitch may temporarily not be available, for example due to weather conditions. If that happens, we will always look for a suitable solution together. It rarely occurs, but we believe it is important to mention this in advance.
Standard features on all camping fields
Arrival and departure times
On the day of arrival, your camping pitch is available from 1.00 pm. On the day of departure, we kindly ask you to vacate the pitch by 12.00 noon.
(Online) reservations
For all our camping pitches, we prefer that you reserve in advance via our online reservation system. After booking, you will receive a confirmation by email as soon as possible. It contains further information about your stay with us in Kasterlee.
Maximum 6 persons per pitch
A maximum of six persons are allowed per camping pitch. This makes the pitches suitable for families and smaller groups, with enough space for everyone.
Barrier and access to the campsite
Between 7.00 am and 11.00 pm, you can enter and leave the campsite with a barrier card (deposit €10). If you wish to leave during the day, the barrier opens automatically when you are about two metres in front of it. In case of emergency, you can always exit the campsite.
Free wifi (recreational internet)
Free wifi is available on the campsite for practical use. We continue to invest each year in improving the connection.
Dogs are welcome, always on a leash
Dogs are allowed on the campsite, provided they remain on a leash at all times. We kindly ask you to clean up after your dog. In the surrounding area, there are plenty of opportunities for leashed walks.
Camping with a group
Would you like to camp with a small group, family or a larger party? On our comfort pitches, we can place small groups as close together as possible, depending on availability.
To ensure everything runs smoothly, we kindly ask you to reserve in time. The earlier we know you are coming together, the better we can take this into account when planning the field layout.
You can book separately online and mention your group name in the comments. This allows us to identify which reservations belong together.
Prefer one single reservation for the entire group? That is possible. In that case, we only need the details of one main contact person. We will create one group reservation behind the scenes and make sure your pitches are located as close together as possible. You can send the details to info@campinghoutum.be. Important to know: participants may pay per pitch, but we cannot issue separate invoices per pitch. One invoice will be made for the entire group.
We always do our very best to place groups together, with respect for the peace of the campsite and for other campers.
Our campsite facilities
Service point
There is a service point on the campsite where motorhomes and caravans can dispose of wastewater.
At the back of the service point, you will also find containers for sorted waste.
Sanitary facilities
In the sanitary building, we work with a SEP card for the use of hot water, such as showers, dishwashing and washing machines. Upon arrival, €10 credit is placed on the card. Any unused credit is refunded at departure. This way, you only pay for what you actually use.
Café de Congé
During the camping season, Café de Congé is open for anyone who wishes to linger a little longer. You can enjoy a drink on the terrace or sit inside when it is warmer. There is also a billiard table and table football. No obligations, just a place you naturally end up.
Domein de Putten
At the back of Camping Houtum, you will find Domein de Putten. Children can play freely in the indoor and outdoor playground.
At Moe Marie, you can enjoy a relaxed meal or organise a large family celebration. Everything within walking distance of your camping pitch.
Petanque court
Just behind Café de Congé you will find our petanque court and beach volleyball field. Campers enjoy using them daily, and it is always a pleasure to see. You are of course welcome to use them free of charge.
Bread service
During the season, you can order fresh bread via our CampingApp. The next morning, your order will be ready for you at reception.
You can choose from white and brown bread rolls, croissants and sandwiches.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, you can. At Camping Houtum, we do not work with fixed arrival days. We do kindly ask you to reserve in advance, so we know you are coming and can provide you with the correct information about your stay.
During the camping season, reception is open daily from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm.
On Fridays, reception is open until 8.00 pm.
During the low and shoulder season, you can camp at Camping Houtum at a reduced rate with one of the following discount cards: ACSI Camping Card, ANWB CK Europe, Pasar CK Europe or Best Deal.
When checking in at reception, we always ask you to present a valid card.
The periods during which these cards are valid can be found on our price list.
No, there is not. You are free to stay as short or as long as you wish. Whether you stay for one night or enjoy your pitch a little longer, you are equally welcome.
You are also welcome at Camping Houtum during winter, except during our annual closure period. Our hard-surfaced camping pitches are suitable for motorhomes and caravans, and part of our accommodations remain available all year round. During the winter period, camping on our grass fields is not possible. The heated sanitary facilities provide extra comfort during the colder months.
Yes, you can use both a washing machine and a dryer at our campsite. Convenient if you are staying a bit longer, travelling through, or simply like to start your day with fresh clothes.
The machines operate with the SEP card — the same card used for hot water in the sanitary facilities. This way, you only pay for what you actually use.
The washing machines have a large capacity (up to 9 kg), and most programmes are completed within an hour. Practical and easy to arrange.
